Ron Ringer
Managing Director of Syntax
Ron Ringer is an independent academic, consulting historian, and technical writer. He established Syntax Writing in 1990 and since that time has worked with many of Australia’s leading banks, tertiary institutions, and corporations on a diverse range of projects. These include simplifying legal and banking documentation (Plain English), B2B and B2C customer and marketing collateral and automated correspondence, as well as advertising and marketing brochureware. He has also been commissioned to research and write numerous institutional histories and educational textbooks. Ron is an accomplished presenter, speaker, and workshop facilitator and has made numerous appearances on national radio networks in Australia.
Ron has had a long association with the School of Business at The University of Sydney, providing teaching and learning support, presenting grant writing seminars, and editing peer-reviewed journal articles for publication in international journals. From 2018-2020 he held a part-time lectureship at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius Tech) in Lithuania, where he taught academic writing. Ron continues to provide English language editing services to universities in Lithuania and Australia.
